เราเล่นเป็นคุณตา Bernard ที่แก่มากๆ อยู่กระท่อมตัวคนเดียว ใช้ไม้เท้า เดินช้า (แต่ตอนเริ่มเกมมี Option ให้เลือกเดินเร็วกว่าเดิม เผื่อรีบ) เดินไปเดินมาในบ้าน ไป Interact กับของต่างๆ แล้วก็เรียนรู้ว่าชีวิตของคุณตา Bernard เคยผ่านอะไรมากบ้าง
ชีวิตของคุณตาก็ค่อนข้างน่าสนใจ ในช่วงวัยเด็กก็ได้ผ่านอะไรดีๆ มาเยอะแยะ ตั้งแต่มีพ่อ แม่ พี่สาวที่ดี มีหมา Elfie ที่อยู่ด้วยกันมานาน ออกไปตกปลา ท่องโลก มีกลุ่มเพื่อนสนิทที่นั่งเล่น D&D ด้วยกัน มีกิจกรรมสนุกๆ ทำด้วยกันตลอด พอเติบโตมา ก็ได้พบรักกับเพื่อนตั้งแต่สมัยเด็ก มีลูกมีหลาน ชีวิตครอบครัวอบอุ่นดี จนกระทั่ง...
เราจะได้เล่นแบบนี้ไปอีก 2-3 ครั้ง แล้วก็พบว่า ข้อมูลต่างๆ ที่คุณตาพูดมาเริ่มน้อยลงเรื่อยๆ เช่น บางกิจกรรมเคยพูดว่าไปเล่นกับใคร วันนั้นรู้สึกยังไง พอเดินมากดดูอีกรอบ กลายเป็นว่าแค่จำได้ว่าเคยไปทำแค่นั้นเลย จนถึงตาสุดท้าย ที่ฉากทุกอย่างมืดมนไปหมด จะไปกดดูอะไรก็ดูไม่เคยพบเคยเห็น
Demo ก็จะมี Minigame ตกปลา, แอบคุณครูให้เล่น ซึ่งก็ไม่ได้สนุกอะไร (เหมือนฝืนใส่มาให้มันดูไม่เป็น Walking Sim ล้วนเฉยๆ) แล้วตัว Demo ก็จบลงที่ตาสุดท้ายนั่นแหละ พร้อมความรู้สึกว่ามันเป็นแค่ Ending นึง ที่เราเล่นมาผิดๆ ในเกมเต็มจริงๆ เราถึงจะหาทางให้เรื่องมันจบดีกว่านี้ได้
เกมมีเสียงพากย์ที่ดีเลย เพลงก็โอเค รู้สึกอินกับชีวิตของคุณตาอยู่ แต่มันก็คือ Walking Sim ที่ต้องโฟกัสกับเนื้อเรื่องสักหน่อย เพราะแทบจะไม่มีอะไรอย่างอื่นให้เล่นอีกเลยนอกจากเดินไปมา แต่คอนเฟิร์มได้เลยว่า เสพย์เนื้อเรื่องเกมนี้ได้ ประทับใจครับ
About the game
Spiral is a third-person narratively driven exploration game sharing a poetic vision of cognitive degeneration seen from the inside.
It tells the story of Bernard, a man who wishes goodbye one last time to the memories that built him from his early childhood to who he is today. You accompany him on this journey, bearing witness to his life and remembering for him as his mind slowly unravels into the void.

Walk alongside Bernard as you delve deep inside his mind, experiencing everything from his earliest childhood memories up until the very first moment you meet him. Throughout this journey, you will visit over twenty key memories that helped define the man he would become.

Explore every memory you enter and discover pieces of Bernard’s life. When Bernard’s mind fails him, help him to remember. How thoroughly you explore each memory will determine how well some details will be preserved throughout the story.

Which is why Spiral’s soundtrack, sometimes youthful, other times melancholic, plays such an important role in telling Bernard’s story.
